To provide quality safety and shelter to battered women and their children through crisis intervention and short term crisis therapeutics and to reduce the occurrence of violence against women and children in the greater Dallas area.

Grant Proposal:
For Phase 1 of a three phase project that raises public awareness, advocates for screening of domestic violence in expectant mothers, and refers identified victims to appropriate care to reduce the impact of depression on society as a whole.

To lead, coordinate and involve the community in improving mental health by advocating for improved care and treatment of people with mental illnesses, conducting education and prevention programs, and raising public awareness about mental illnesses and mental health.

To support the Mosaic Transitional House which provides comprehensive, holistic services for immigrant women and children who are victims of domestic violence with programmatic support. The grant also enhances technology access and education programs.

New Beginning Center
$10,000 Dallas Women’s Foundation Grant
Grant Proposal:
To provide teen dating violence education and prevention to teenagers through the agency's Expect, Respect, Xpose, Find Your Edge programs, and Trendsetters Conference. Both focus on raising awareness, advocacy, the warning signs of abuse, how to get help if you are being abused, safety planning, and the dynamics of a healthy relationship.
Purpose of Agency:
New Beginning Center fosters an environment of safety, support and respect for families affected by domestic violence through crisis intervention, counseling, shelter, education, advocacy and diverse community partnerships.
The Family Place, Inc.
$20,000 Verizon Grant
Grant Proposal:
To fund the Latina Outreach Program which serves to provide community-based, culturally sensitive services to Hispanic victims of domestic violence in Northwest Dallas.
Purpose of Agency:
For 28 years, the Family Place's mission to end the epidemic of family violence has remained constant. We believe that intervention, emergency shelter, and crisis counseling for the whole family will save lives.
Human Rights Initiative of North Texas
$1,500 Dallas Women’s Foundation Discretionary Grant
Grant Proposal:
Funds would support the Women and Children’s Program which addresses the serious need for legal representation for immigrant women and children who have been abused, abandoned, neglected or are victims of domestic violence.
Purpose of Agency:
Human Rights Initiative of North Texas provides free legal representation and social services to the most marginalized victims of human rights abuses and serves as a community resource on international human
