Queen LatifahThe 25th Anniversary Luncheon Celebration is the culmination of the 25th Anniversary for the Dallas Women’s Foundation. This page features photos, videos and stories encompassing our mission and accomplishments over the years, as well as materials from the Celebration event.

The Embrey Family Foundation has made a challenge grant of $250,000 in honor of the anniversary and to encourage others to increase the impact of their philanthropy. Gifts made today will be matched by the Embrey Family Foundation Challenge Grant. As a result, Dallas Women’s Foundation strengthens the entire community by increasing the investment in women and girls and empowering women’s philanthropy.

25th Anniversary Photographic Exhibit

Cecilia Guthrie Boone personifies the spirit of women’s philanthropy: compassionate, determined, generous and focused on solutions. She has had an immeasurable impact on women and girls today and tomorrow through her work with the Dallas Women’s Foundation.
A full-time employee in a position funded by Dallas Women’s Foundation, Jammie works every day to help women exploited by prostitution to overcome their addictions and claim new and better lives.
Our Friends Place, supported by Dallas Women’s Foundation, helped Taisha work through and release her feelings, channeling them for good.
“[Today] I tell my girls, ‘Stop blaming yourself. Say what you’re feeling out loud. Do not let the past predict your future. Don’t let it hinder you as you become a woman.’”
For a grandmother and granddaughter grieving and forming a new life together, the East Dallas Community School provided a lifeline and hope for the future.
The East Dallas Community School has remained a fixture in Jo’s & Jahliese’s lives, even though Jahliese long ago surpassed the age of its students.
“My daughter says, ‘I want to be something big, Mommy – like you. I want to dream, and I want to be like you…’ That makes me feel so excited.”
“I tell my girls, ‘When you come into the world, you have a mission, and you go find it. Mine is to help these moms.’ When I go to bed at night, I am smiling because I am helping these women.”

Ginny Whitehill was one of the founding members of Dallas Women’s Foundation 25 years ago and is the namesake of The Virginia Whitehill Board Alumnae Fund, which continues to be an active and important part of our grant making to programs for women and girls.
In honor of our 25th anniversary, Dan Sellers again captures the spirit of the women and girls who Dallas Women’s Foundation seeks to lift up, as well as the philanthropic women whose generosity and leadership make our mission possible.
