he goal of our report, Out of the Shadows: A Portrait of Women and Girls in Dallas County, is to focus attention on the most pressing issues facing women and girls at the beginning of the new millennium. Very little gender-based research has been done in the Dallas community. The Dallas Women’s Foundation is pleased to share the information contained herein with the public, in the hope that the data will foster and support community efforts and collaborations that address the needs of women and girls.
