Grant Proposal
To provide partial funding to support the “Family Pathways” program which is a transitional housing, welfare to work program for single women with children. The program is designed to address a variety of societal issues that create primary barriers to economic self-sufficiency for low socioeconomic, single mothers: education, housing, childcare and transportation.

Purpose of Agency
In cooperation with the religious community, private sector, and governmental entities, Family Gateway provides comprehensive services to children whose families are in crisis: counseling, temporary housing job search and placement assistance, transitional living apartments and community transition services.
Grant Proposal
Funds would support the “Gateway to Jobs” program providing training in pre-employment skills and customer service experience to parents who have little education or job experience, and then assists them in searching for employment. Family Gateway serves homeless women with children in a 10-week residential program.
Friendship House Health Ministries

Purpose of Agency
Reflecting Christ's love to the underserved population in Garland by providing health care services, spiritual support, social services, counseling, and referrals to community agencies.
Grant Proposal
To fund a clinic that provides health care to women without access to insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, Parkland, etc. The grant would provide for lab testing for patients and allow the clinic to expand the lab testing beyond the most basic tests that are currently provided and to expand the inventory of free medications that they can provide. Services include exams, pap smears, lab testing, medicines, Rx's and spiritual support at no cost.

Purpose of Agency
To provide quality, affordable, nurturing child care and early development education for the children of far west Dallas and to serve as a community resource center with sensitivity to diverse cultural needs.
Grant Proposal
Funds would support the remaining tuition amount for the children to attend pre-school. The parents (primarily single Mom's) pay half. Children receiving an early childhood education and childcare are from families faced with illiteracy, living at or below poverty level and struggling to gain economic self sufficiency.
Grace United Methodist Church Agape Clinic

Purpose of Agency
To improve the health of the medically underserved through providing community health services as a mission of Grace United Methodist Church.
Grant Proposal
Funds would support the Promotora program (the lay health promoter program) which educates Latina mothers about healthcare. Promotoras conduct outreach within the Hispanic community. They are taught about chronic illness (diabetes, hypertension), overall wellness and health promotion, and critical thinking skills (about healthcare concerns like prevention and insurance).

Purpose of Agency
To help men and women grow spiritually by offering person to person service to those who are needy and suffering.
Grant Proposal
Funds would support the Immigrant Business Training program which educates DFW’s growing immigrant population, primarily Latino, to teach workforce skills necessary to earn a living wage. Students are taught financial literacy, workplace culture, and PC skills. Services also include a network of support from mentors, internships to provide family and emergency assistance when needed.
Vickery Meadow Learning Center

Purpose of Agency
Dedicated to improving English literacy levels among non-English speaking adults by providing programs in communication and life skills. We do so in the belief that the ability to read, write and understand English contributes to independence, productivity and the overall well being of adult learners, their families and the greater community.
Grant Proposal
Funds would provide daytime English literacy classes to non-English speaking adult women and provide educational programming for their pre-school age children. Vickery Meadow Learning Center is the only English language program at no cost for adults and their children located in the Vickery Meadow neighborhood.
