Purpose of Agency:
To provide programs and professional services which promote the development of positive behavioral health and independence for individuals and families caught up in the cycles of substance abuse and addiction.

Grant Proposal:
To fund the establishment of a “technology training center” to introduce female clients to the basic software packages to include MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Participants would receive approximately 20 hours of instruction over the course of two weeks. A typing/keyboard tutorial would also be introduced as well as the basics of the internet with a focus on job searches, housing searches and information searches.

To fund the Career Works program which helps to achieve economic stability through fulfilling employment for families. The curriculum covers the areas of: Work Motivation, Career Planning, Career Path Strategies, Working for Advancement, Understanding the U.S. Business Culture, Overcoming Barriers to Employment, and Marketing Yourself.

Grant Proposal:
To fund the effective delivery of the Child Care and Education Workforce Child Development Associate (CDA) Credentialing Training and Apprentice/Mentor programs designed to enhance the economic self-sufficiency of women by increasing their skill levels to a paraprofessional level, which, will place them on a career ladder that will advance their salary and position levels.

To fund the Job Readiness Training Program for Women (JRTPW) which is designed to enhance the employability and self-sufficiency of refugee women in Dallas while they adapt to their new home.

To provide emergency shelter and related services to the homeless person in a compassionate Christian community, so that the person in need might be better able to make responsible choices and changes in their lives.

Grant Proposal:
To fund the Women’s Work Therapy Program, a unique, psychosocial rehabilitation program to provide economic self-sufficiency to homeless women. It teaches the skills necessary to find meaningful employment so that these women may support themselves and their children. The program includes job skills training, parenting skills training, grooming and socialization skills, substance abuse counseling and overall life skills.

Purpose of Agency:
To work with youth and their families to develop problem solving and social skills, build self-esteem and foster a sense of purpose, hope and direction.

Grant Proposal:
The Sunset Teen Parenting Program focuses on teen parents completing their high school education, while providing childcare, tutoring, parenting education classes and basic life readiness skills. Throughout the day their children participate in developmentally appropriate lesson plans where they are challenged mentally and physically. Parents spend quality time with their children before and after school and maintain at least a "C" average with low school absences.

To fund operating expenses for the Transition Housing Program and Transition Assistance Program (TAP) which provides financial and life skills support for a period of one month to two years for women with children experiencing homelessness due to relationship violence and/or sexual assault, who are exiting an emergency shelter.

To fund the Multicultural Family Violence Program that provides a culturally competent safe haven for survivors of domestic violence from diverse ethnic backgrounds. The Mosaic Transitional House is designed to offer a supportive environment where survivors may increase in physical and emotional well-being, economic self-sufficiency and the ability to live lives free from violence.

To fund the Girl’s Sexual Abuse Treatment Program by supporting the salary for therapists of this program. The goal of the program is to help girls (between age 3 and 17), who are suffering from the effects of sexual abuse, improve self-esteem, strengthen relationships and decrease emotional distress.

To provide a safe haven to battered women and their children and to reduce the occurrence of physical violence against women and children in the greater Dallas area.

Grant Proposal:
Funds would support housing for battered women and their children, including assistance with rent, furnishings, and case management oversight. The goal of the program is to equip clients with life enrichment skills that will allow them to live independently of their abusive partner. The objectives are for each woman to find sustainable employment, to learn to manage her personal finances, to find child-care resources and to receive counseling support as she begins to shoulder the emotional load of providing for and raising children alone.

The program provides full-time care to children whose families meet agency criteria, which is: to be working full-time, going to school full-time.

Purpose of Agency:
Management assistance improves effectiveness in program delivery, and therefore
increases the impact the agency has on its clients and on the community. The Center for
Nonprofit Management has a proven track record of helping nonprofits succeed.

Grant Proposal:
Funds would support Capacity Building Training Session 3, a 4-hour session comprised of 2 hours of Budgeting 101 class content, presenting foundational information on annual financial planning for nonprofits and 1.5 hours of Budgeting Practicum that leads participants through exercise and review of drafting a budget for their own organization.
